DenyList routing
Whereas the call filter lets you control both who can and cannot call, the DenyList focuses only on blocking. You maintain a list of numbers that should never reach your team, and when a blocked number calls, the system intercepts it before it rings your extensions. The caller hears a recorded message or a busy tone, and your team remains undisturbed.
Send us the number you want blocked and it takes effect immediately. You can block individual numbers, entire ranges, or anonymous callers, depending on what suits your situation best.
- Block specific numbers in seconds
- Block entire number ranges
- Set temporary or permanent blocks
- Blocked callers hear a message or busy tone
Benefits of DenyList routing
Discover how DenyList routing removes unwanted calls, keeps your team focused, and protects your line capacity for callers who matter.
Stop nuisance calls
Persistent telemarketers, spam callers, and robocalls are blocked before they reach your team. One entry on the DenyList and that recurring number is gone for good.
Manage problematic callers
When certain individuals keep calling in a disruptive or abusive manner, you can add them to the DenyList, which ensures they cannot reach your team through your CallFactory number again.
Keep your team focused
Each unwanted call that gets through costs time and breaks concentration, yet with a well-maintained DenyList those interruptions disappear, allowing your team to direct all their attention to real customers.
Protect your lines
During busy periods, every available line counts. By blocking known nuisance numbers, you ensure that your capacity stays available for the callers who actually matter.
How DenyList routing works
When a call comes in to your CallFactory number, the system checks the caller’s number against your DenyList before the call is forwarded. If the number is on the list, the call is rejected in seconds—the caller hears a busy tone or a recorded message, and your team never sees the call.
Adding a number to the DenyList is straightforward: you contact our support team and tell them which number you want blocked. The block takes effect immediately and applies to all your CallFactory numbers, so one entry prevents the caller from reaching any number in your account. Removing a block is equally simple: you let us know and it is done right away.
Block number ranges and anonymous callers
Sometimes unwanted calls do not come from a single number but from a series of numbers, such as automated diallers rotating through an entire range. Rather than adding each number individually, you can block a complete range in one entry.
Anonymous callers are another frequent source of unwanted calls. If your business has no reason to accept calls from hidden numbers, you can add a blanket rule to block all anonymous callers. Should you occasionally receive legitimate anonymous calls, our support team can trace a specific anonymous caller by date and time, then add only that number to your DenyList.
Temporary and permanent blocks
Not every block needs to be permanent. If you experience a temporary wave of unwanted calls during a specific period, such as after a marketing campaign, during a product launch, or following a public announcement, you can set temporary blocks and remove them once calm returns.
Permanent blocks are for numbers you never want to hear from again. Both types of blocks are managed in the same way, and you can convert a temporary block to permanent at any time, or vice versa, without any extra steps.
What blocked callers hear
You have full control over what happens when a blocked number calls. The default is a standard busy tone, but you can also set a recorded message, for example informing the caller that the number is not available or directing them to an alternative contact method such as email.
This keeps the experience professional even for blocked callers. They do not reach your phone menu, they do not enter your queue, and they do not take up any of your team’s time.

Whisper tone
A short audio message tells you which number was called before you answer — whether it is a business call to your mobile, a specific webshop, or an international number.
