About the 1800 number
A freephone number is a business line that is free for the caller, because the number holder covers the cost of the call instead. In Ireland these are the 1800 numbers, so “1800 number” and “freephone number” describe the same thing. They are non-geographic, which means they are not tied to a city or region and present the same nationwide image wherever your office actually sits.
1800 numbers are Irish freephone numbers that are location-independent and free to call. They are not tied to a city or region. ComReg, the Irish communications regulator, grants them to telecom operators, and your operator assigns the number to your business under ComReg’s rules.
